Rex Hudson grew up watching his father carve and create beautiful furniture. The original factory was based right across the road from where the family lived, and as he was studying Furniture Design at the time, Rex would spend his remaining time at the factory.
He would do everything from drawing amazing sketches for customers, making the moulds to hand delivering the finished item. This hands-on work ethic was passed onto his three sons who are involved in business today – Tim (Managing Director), James (Commercial Director) and Tom (Operations).
Under their control and direction, the business has flourished with the company producing not only period
furniture but also undertaking contract work and orders for bespoke pieces. They were even asked to furnish the Sheraton Hotel in Knightsbridge, London.
The brothers have been involved in the business from a very early age. They carried out simple tasks such as sweeping the floor, but this allowed them to get a feel for the business right from the start. Each son added a different string to the bow; Tim – the beautiful finishes, James – a master carver, Tom – quality control. Today, all three run the business with Tim and James heavily involved in design and Tom in customer service and logistics.
