The Mountain Men

Team-(1).JPG
Tim and Tom took a breather from our hectic schedules in June to cycle across the Alps from Geneva to Lake Como. Having completed several charity rides we decided to do this for fun (yes fun) taking in 6 unforgiving mountain peaks in day 1 and 2, climbing approx 20,000 feet, followed by a 115 mile charge on day (3 average speed 18 miles per hour) and a relaxing 68 mile ride on day 4 alongside the banks of Lake Granola and Lake Como.

The weather could have been a little better (the wettest June in Italy since the 1980’s) but we were not going to let a bit of bad weather put off these mountain men, even though at the top of one peak 2300 metres up, five of our party had to be brought down in the support vehicle due to biting wind, snow and sleet!! Not us, heads down and we went for it, hey it can only get warmer on the 20 mile descent.Tom.JPG

(Mind you the hot chocolate brandys helped at the bottom)!

Tim did comment after 3 years of cycling mountains “I’ve ticked that box” meaning’ less up, more flat and longer lunches!

“I reckon I could live with that”
Romanian-Factory.JPGNo rest for the wicked, flew back Sunday late afternoon and out again early Monday morning to Romania, overseeing production of two new magnificent bedroom ranges; one in oak and the other in spruce. There I was back up in the mountains of Romania amongst the spruce trees but gladly this time, minus the bike.

Stunning views from the factory though!
